Celebrate Human Rights Day with the Faculty of Advocates & JUSTICE Scotland

10th December 2015 @ 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm

The Faculty of Advocates and JUSTICE Scotland have great pleasure in announcing a joint event on 10 December 2015 to celebrate Human Rights Day.

The organisers are honoured that Sir Stephen Sedley QC and Lord Hamilton have kindly agreed to speak at the event. As can be seen from their biographies below, both speakers are uniquely placed to speak on human rights given their distinguished careers at the very highest level.

The particular topic will be Freedom of Expression. There will be a relatively informal format followed whereby Sir Stephen will present a paper, to which Lord Hamilton will respond, followed by a general question and answer and discussion session.

This is a unique opportunity to hear two speakers of the very highest intellectual calibre and the evening will be unmissable for all those with an interest in public law, human rights and the rule of law.

The event will take place at the Mackenzie Building, High Street, Edinburgh, at 4.30pm, with registration (with tea and coffee) from 4pm. There will be an opportunity to continue the discussion informally over a drink at the end.
